Javier is an Ecuadorian, world citizen, who loves to travel and is currently researching Media Spaces and the way people interact through them in informal-personal places.
He is a Fulbright Scholar, pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction advised by Steve Harrison and Deborah Tatar in the CS Department at VT. His interests are in HCI and CSCW.
Previous educational experiences and work include obtaining a B.Sc. in CS at ESPOL (Ecuador), and a M.Sc. in CS at UPC (Spain). He is also a tenure-track Professor at ESPOL, in their Computer Science Program.
